There are many genuine home business opportunities around and all of them have good income earning potential. However, in selecting a business you must make sure that you select the one that suits your own temperament and personal circumstances. A person who succeeds with eBay may not necessarily succeed with affiliate marketing and vice versa. There are a whole range of points that one must consider before selecting a line of business but there are three points that must be addressed before all else and it is these three points that I would like to discuss in this article.
1. Time /Flexibility: First you must decide how much spare time you have available. If you can spare a good deal of time during the day then you can try your hand at virtually anything but if you do a sixty hour a week job then you must discount direct selling and probably even eBay. Your focus then must be purely on affiliate marketing or paid online surveys as time wise these businesses are the most flexible.
2. Temperament: You must determine what you like doing. One of my friends is absolutely crazy about movies and used to spend all his spare time discussing the latest releases. Soon he realized that he could make some money from his hobby and in due time started an affiliate marketing business promoting movies.
If you are passionate about something then see if you can base your business around that. If not then go for the next best thing but just make sure that this fits in with your time and budgetary constraints.
3. Investment: Before starting any business, it is extremely important to budget your finances. If you have very little investment funds then it is best to start off with paid online surveys. Affiliate marketing with the free advertising option also requires very little funds. eBay can be slightly expensive as it requires the holding of a certain amount of inventory to speed up delivery times.
